The Wild Dolphins Retreat will be held May 4th, 5th, 6th & 7th.

We suggest arriving the day before in case there are any travel delays and so that you have time to get situated. Guests are welcome to add days before and/or after the retreat to enjoy exploring this beautiful part of the world.

• Flights are not included in the conference pricing. Guests are responsible for booking their own flight to and from the retreat.

• You can fly into Puerto Vallarta (PVR) airport that has very affordable access from most of North America.

We recommend bringing:

• Swimsuits and a rash guard for whale swims

• Light, breathable clothing and a sun hat

• Reef-safe sunscreen and insect repellent

• Snorkel gear (optional, will be provided on boat)

• Comfortable sandals or water shoes

• Refillable water bottle and journal

• Any personal toiletries or medications

Lodging and Food is not included and guests are responsible for booking their own accommodations.  It is recommended that guests stay if possible near the Marina area of Puerto Vallarta, where most of our launches into the ocean will occur!  The closest hotel to the Dolphin Launch is Westin Hotel Puerto Vallarta. Highly suggested since we all know each other to possibly book places with fellow Oracle Students.

While swimming skills aren't required, you should be comfortable in the water as we will spend a lot of time in the Ocean. All guests will receive life vests and snorkelling goggles for each daily Wild Dolphin Swim!

For US, Canadian, and EU passport holders, no visa is required for tourist stays of up to 180 days in Mexico. You will receive a visitor permit upon arrival.

If you hold a passport from another country, please check Mexico’s specific entry requirements prior to booking, as visa regulations vary by nationality.

This experience is accessible and designed to be enjoyable, not extreme. You should be comfortable being in water and able to climb in and out of small boats using a ladder.

You do not need to be highly athletic. A basic level of mobility and general comfort in the water is all that’s required. We swim in calm conditions, the boat nearby, and life jackets are provided for everyone. Our guides are always nearby to assist and ensure you feel safe and supported throughout. 

During early May in Puerto Vallarta you can expect very warm and mostly dry tropical weather. Typical conditions around May 4 – 7 are:

• Daily temperatures usually range from around 26 °C (79 °F) in the early morning to about 31 °C – 33 °C (88 °F – 91 °F) in the afternoon. The sun is strong and it feels hot by midday.  

• Rainfall is generally very low in early May, with most days remaining dry or only having a brief passing shower.  

• Humidity starts to rise compared with spring, so the air can feel warm and a bit muggy, typical of a tropical climate.  

• The ocean is quite warm and pleasant for swimming, often around the mid-20s °C (upper-70s to low-80s °F).  

Overall, you should plan for hot, sunny, and mostly dry weather, with light tropical breezes and very comfortable sea temperatures for swimming.
